Great family vacation a few years ago! We brought the grandparents on this one and had a tremendous time! Although Anvil isn't a high end RV resort park, it is clean, has friendly staff, and is convenient and close to all the local attractions. It is also on the public bus route, making it easy to get to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Busch Gardens. Anvil is also close to great shopping and we stumbled across some great restaurants. We highly recommend Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant...delicious! Highlight of the trip was definately the Ghost Walk at night at Colonial Williamsburg.
Cherry Hill RV Park, College Park MD:
We have had several great "glamping" adventures at Cherry Hill Park located in College Park, MD. It's on the Metro bus and rail line so it's so easy to get into DC utilizing public transportation. I really like to avoid DC traffic if I can help it:) Cherry Hill falls into our Glamping category as it is close to some terrific historical and cultural attractions, near great restaurants and offers resort type ammenities. They have expanded over the past few years as well and just seems to get better and better!
