Honestly, we've been pretty negligent RV owners this past winter. Usually we go to the location we store our RV and check on it several times throughout the winter months. However, it has been such a cold and brutal winter, we have totally put this off and really haven't gone out to RV in ages...maybe five or six months. Not wise. For whatever reason, even though we still have a constant three feet of snow out of our front door, we decided to go by the RV and take a look yesterday. We thought we would see if we could even start it up and run it for a minute. Not a chance! We stumbled our way up to the RV through all the snow and were relieved to be able to get in to take a look around. First thing Neal did was attempt to start up the RV, mostly to provide some warmth. Nothing...dead as a doornail. In all of our years Rving, we have never taken out the batteries through the winter months without issue. Likely the extreme cold this past winter had it's toll this year and we are going to need to buy a new one get the RV started. Ok, no problem, we can deal with that issue. Then we looked around the dash board and saw three little brown nuggets...oh no! Kathy started opening the drawers...oh no was right! MOUSE POOP! Without question some furry assailants had had their way with our beloved RV, running around the drawers and mattresses. It seems one even used the toilet paper roll as a treadmill, unravelling the toilet paper to the floor as it got a little work out! You've got the be kidding me! It did seem that they hadn't been there in a while, we have no food for them as we clean out the RV for the winter, so they likely frolicked there and moved on to greener pastures. Fortunately we did not find a nest, cleaned up what we could and will go back later this week to tidy up the rest until we can bring the RV home in a few weeks to do a thorough sanitization and clean up! We also came home and ordered some "Fresh Cab" to throw in there to deter any more furry creatures from entering our palace. Grrr! It's our own fault, we should have gone out earlier...lesson learned. You reap what you sow! Happy Monday!
