1. RV TRIPS ARE MORE AFFORDABLE!
We save so much money using our RV for our travel adventures. As there are six in our family, we have always, in the past, had to get two rooms or a family suite when we stayed at a resort/ hotel. This was very expensive! Having the RV, which can sleep up to 6 people, obviously saves us ton$! As important, is the fact that we can bring food with us which really cuts down on our eating out. Both of these factors offsets the cost of gas to fill the tank. We are also saving money on flights, which has historically been a more expensive mode of travel for our family. We can drive to and from our destination for less than six flights!
Something to really think about!
One of the great things about having an RV is that it really is a second home. All it needs is a toilet and it qualifies for an IRS write off. You can deduct interest you pay on a loan secured by your main home (where you ordinarily live most of the time) and a second home. A second home can include any other residence you own and treat as a second home, and can be a mobile home, house trailer, recreational vehicle, or houseboat that has sleeping, cooking and toilet facilities. See IRS Topic 505.
3. THE JOURNEY BEGINS IN THE DRIVEWAY!
Your vacation starts before you even leave the home. To our family, the journey is part of the trip, not just the destination. We get the RV ready together to head out (packing etc) and have quality time on the way to and from our adventures. We have just as many amazing memories from our drives as we do from our actual "vacations". It's about the whole experience as a family.
When you are paying for an RV and it's sitting in your driveway, you can't NOT USE IT! It's that big nagging reminder to get away and have some fun! Basically, it's a huge excuse to get out on the open road and have an adventure!
5. SLEEP IN YOUR OWN BED!
No offense to hotels, but we prefer to sleep in a bed that only we have slept in...that is all.
6. RV'S OFFER A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE!
There is something so special about Rving, it just can't compare to staying at a hotel. It's intimate, it's yours and it's your home. Let's face it, you can't have a campfire at the end of a day of sightseeing at a hotel. It's an RV thing.
7. CONVENIENCE WHILE TRAVELLING!
When travelling on the open road, there is no better way to travel with a family of six than in the openness of an RV. We have the access of a kitchen, bathroom and beds while travelling to our adventure. There's no stopping for each person that needs to go to the bathroom every ten miles! It's also so great to be able to include our pet in all of our trips!
8. SLOWS YOU DOWN!
The moment we step into our RV we are on vacation and we can just slow it all down. We can't tell you how many times we've just sat in it in our driveway...there's nothing better. It's our home away from home and our place of zen where all of the business of lives can just melt away...
9. YOU WILL MEET THE NICEST PEOPLE!
RVer's are the nicest people you will ever meet. Every park we've ever stayed at we've been fortunate enough to meet other terrific RVer's. There is something so wonderful about RVing, it just brings people together from all walks of life. We all have a common bond, the love of RVing. What better thing to have in common?!
This is the key word to and RVing lifestyle...Flexibilty! There is no other way to travel that gives you the ability to come and go at your convenience. If you arrive at a destination and it's not to your liking, or the weather is bad, you can just, wait for it...leave! Yes, it's true! Check the weather elsewhere where it's not hurricane conditions and head that way. Trust us, it's happened! We were able to find another location with better conditions and turned our vacation around. The freedom of the open road is incredible! You really can be spontaneous in an RV if you choose!
11. HEALTHIER WAY TO TRAVEL!
When you RV you can bring your own healthy food with you. Let's face it, we eat healthier when we cook at home. As much as we love eating out, and we do it, we make better choices for ourselves in the RV. When Rving, we also get outside more and hike, bike, fish and more! It can be a very healthy way to travel and can really give you a terrific lifestyle. Most campgrounds offer pools, hiking paths, canoeing and more. It's very easy to keep fit on the road!
